Quality Certificates for Metal Manufacturers
Thin Metal Sales is a fully certified metals service center based on the west coast that operates globally. Since our clients are located around the world, a greater number of international regulations and procedures must be adhered to to maintain our global presence. Ultimately, this improves our products and business by raising our standards of quality management and accountability.
Below are our material, vendor, packaging, and quality certifications and safety data sheets from the businesses where we source our high-quality raw materials and alloys:
AS9100 is an internationally recognized quality management standard in the aerospace sector. The European Association of Aerospace Industries and the Society of Automotive Engineers published it in October 1999.
The newer AS9100 standard replaces the older AS9000 and contains the latest edition of ISO 9001, plus additional quality and safety standards. Compliance and registration to AS9100 are prerequisites for doing business with many of the world’s largest aerospace manufacturers and suppliers.
When a firm meets the criteria laid forth by ISO 9001:2015, it has implemented a quality management system that meets the following criteria:
1) Shows that it can reliably provide goods and services that satisfy both customer requests and relevant legal and regulatory mandates.
2) Seeks to increase client satisfaction using the system’s efficient implementation, including system enhancement procedures and the guarantee of adherence to client and relevant legislative and regulatory mandates.
All of ISO 9001:2015’s standards are broad in scope and should be used by any business—regardless of its size, industry, or kind of product or service—to earn these quality certificates for metal manufacturers.
REACH Compliance & RoHS Compliance
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) compliance is all about regulations for improving the environment and protecting human health. There are several ways to evaluate the hazards of chemicals, and obtaining a REACH compliance certificate encourages using alternatives.
With few exceptions, RoHS-compliant products do not contain more than the specified limits of six hazardous substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). The banned materials harm workers’ health and safety during production and recycling because of environmental toxicity, which makes a RoHS compliance certificate vital for manufacturers.
SAFETY DATA SHEETS
Manufacturers and importers of hazardous chemicals are legally required to compile and distribute a Safety Data Sheet (also known as a Material Safety Data Sheet). It details the product’s chemical and physical composition. Safety data sheets (SDSs) provide crucial product details, including toxicity, flash point, spill, leak procedures, storage recommendations, and exposure control measures.
The Safety Data Sheet is only one resource for gauging the potential dangers of chemicals. Consult multiple safety resources to ensure you have all the necessary knowledge before commencing work with a hazardous substance.
Thin Metal Sales retains the following SDS certificates:
- Aleris Rolled Products Aluminum Coil and Sheet
- Thyssen Krupp
